Effectively no. We copy the site to the new server and verify it works before switching the domain over. DNS propagation can take a few hours, during which visitors still see the existing site.

There's no monthly hosting fee. It does run on your premises' internet connection and power, so a power cut or line fault takes the site down with it. It suits small brochure sites — menus, services, directions — and we don't recommend it for stores taking payments.
